Privacy Policy

SweepSpot has no accounts, no analytics and no advertising, and it never sells or shares your information. Almost everything it does happens on your device. This page explains what leaves your device, when, and why. It covers the iPhone app, the Android app and the web app at app.sweepspot.ai alike.

Location

SweepSpot uses your device's location, or an address you type in, to work out which block and which side of the street you are on, and to show the parking rules for that spot. That matching happens on your device.

To fetch the rules, the app requests the data for a map tile covering roughly one square kilometre around the spot from our content delivery network. That request identifies the tile, not you and not your precise position, and it is not tied to any account. A copy of the data also ships inside the app and is used whenever the network is unavailable.

Drawing the map means telling a map provider which area to draw, the way any map app does. On iPhone the map is Apple Maps. On Android and in a desktop browser it is Mapbox. Address search is resolved by Mapbox on every platform. SweepSpot has no server of its own that sees or stores any of this. Problem reports

Any card in the app can be turned over to report a wrong schedule, meter or sign. If you send a report, the app sends your description, the photo you attached (if any), your precise location at that moment, the block's details as shown on the card, and the app and data versions to our report service, which delivers it by email to the developer. Nothing is sent until you press Send.

Reports are used only to investigate what you reported and to fix the data. They are kept in the developer's mailbox and are not linked to you, because there is nothing to link them to. To limit abuse, the report service keeps a short-lived count of reports per network address; it does not keep the reports themselves.

Reminders, calendar, Lock Screen and widget

"Move your car" reminders are scheduled on your device by iOS or Android's own notification system. SweepSpot has no notification server and never sends push notifications.

If you add a reminder to your calendar, the app writes an event to the calendar you choose, with your permission, and removes the events it created when you clear the reminder in the app. It does not read your calendar for anything else.

The Lock Screen countdown and the Home Screen widget run on your device. The widget's small map is drawn by Apple Maps from the location where you parked.

What is stored, and where

Your reminder-timing preference, the spot where you parked and the rules for that block (until you clear it), and the app's own settings are saved only on your device. In the web app they live in your browser's storage. They are never transmitted anywhere, and they are deleted when you uninstall the app or clear the site's data.

Analytics, ads and tracking

None. SweepSpot has no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs, and it does not track you across other apps or websites.

Third parties

• Apple provides the map on iPhone, along with notifications, the calendar, Live Activities and widgets, under Apple's own privacy policy.
• Mapbox resolves address searches on every platform and draws the map on Android and in desktop browsers.
• Cloudflare hosts the data files, the map token service and the report service. Like any host, it sees the network requests it serves.
• The parking rules come from the City and County of San Francisco's open data. Nothing about you is sent there.

Children's privacy

SweepSpot does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. The only information that ever leaves your device is a problem report you choose to send.
